AKMG North Carolina Chapter

Dear AKMG Members, We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the North Carolina chapter of the Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG) on October 16th, 2023, at the Sitar Indian Restaurant. The morning was filled with warmth, camaraderie, and enthusiasm as we gathered to celebrate this momentous occasion. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Dr. Beppy Edassery and Dr. James Edassery, Dr. Suneel Mohammed and Sherin Mohammed, Dr. Anita Pisharody and Dr. Murali Pisharody, Dr. Sandhya Kumar and Mr. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Jisha John, Dr.Ipe Kalathoor, Dr. Sumitha Narayanan, Dr. Nivin Haroon, Dr. Sreelekha Sasidhar, and Dr. Jaseela Illath, among others. The support and participation of these distinguished members added a special touch to our inaugural gathering.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Sindu Pillai, the President of AKMG, who shared her insights and vision for our organization. We are grateful to her for her guidance and leadership. The event was thoughtfully organized by Drs. Ranjini Pillai and Shubi Shahida, and their dedication ensured its smooth execution. As part of the evening's agenda, our past president Dr. Nigil Haroon spoke about various AKMG initiatives and our commitment to promoting networking, knowledge exchange, and community engagement. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable, and we are motivated to witness the continued growth of our North Carolina chapter. Many of our members expressed their eagerness to attend future AKMG Continuing Medical Education (CME) events and the San Diego convention in August 2024. It is heartening to see the enthusiasm for these gatherings, which provide opportunities for learning and collaboration. This inaugural event was truly a friendly gathering, and it was wonderful to see members from Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Hickory, Kernersville and Chapel Hill coming together to strengthen our AKMG community. It is our hope that this is just the beginning of many more such enriching interactions. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who attended and contributed to the success of the inaugural event. Together, we are building a vibrant and engaged AKMG community in North Carolina. Stay tuned for more updates and events from this chapter in the future!
