📰 Exciting News: A New Chapter for Trivandrum Medical College!
It is with immense enthusiasm and great hope that I share some truly spectacular news regarding the future growth of our beloved alma mater, Trivandrum Medical College (TMC).
🌟 Launching a Grand Initiative
We are on the cusp of launching a grand initiative intended to propel TMC into its next phase of spectacular growth. The goal is ambitious: to explore a formal tie-up with the Mayo Clinic to revamp TMC as a world-class Centre of Excellence. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to reach that goal.
🤝 Global Preventive Oncology Summit & Distinguished Guests
A pivotal event in this journey will be the Global Preventive Oncology (GPO) Summit being held in Thiruvananthapuram from January 16th to 18th.
We are incredibly honored to welcome two distinguished guests from the global healthcare community for this summit:
Dr. Prathibha Varkey, President of Mayo Health Systems, will be joining us. Dr. Varkey is a daughter of our own esteemed alumni, Dr. Varkey Chacko and Dr. Leelamma Varkey. Her presence is a powerful link between our institution and one of the world's leading medical centres.
Dr. Karthik Ghosh, another distinguished Malayalee and Second in Command in a related field at Mayo, will also be participating.
I will also be attending the GPO Summit and look forward to these critical discussions. This vision is also strongly supported by Dr. Hari Parameswaran.
🚀 The Mayo Clinic Partnership: Our Vision
The presence of Dr. Prathibha Varkey and Dr. Karthik Ghosh provides us with a unique opportunity to explore a formal tie-up with Mayo that could revolutionize TMC. We believe this collaboration could lead to:
Enhancements in our infrastructure and technology.
The establishment of cutting-edge research programs.
Elevated standards in medical education and patient care.
This is more than just a collaboration; it is a strategic move to ensure TMC stands among the elite medical institutions globally.
🙏 Best Wishes to All
Let us come together as a strong alumni network to support this vision. The future of Trivandrum Medical College is bright, and with the support and dedication of everyone involved, we will achieve this spectacular goal.
Best wishes,
Dr. M.V. Pillai
